EYFS Pip and Pap Parent Workshop

Early Years were full of the joys of Spring as part of our Pip and Pap parent workshop!

Linking to the Easter Theme, they read Pip and Pap Orange Phase Book 20 "The Rabbit", with their parents, before answering questions about the story. Then, parents and pupils made their own happy and hoppy rabbits together! Aren't they just lovely?

We are running more Pip and Pap Phonics workshops for EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2, linked to our phonics phases of study, in Summer 1 and Summer 2. Within each workshop, we recap the letter-sound correspondences in the story, and practise reading key words. Then, children read the story to their parents, before answering comprehension questions about what they have read, focusing on different reading skills, such as prediction and retrieval. Finally, parents and pupils make something together, linked to the story, before completing an 'oracy' discussion about a subject or theme in the book. Our workshops are great fun - if you would like to attend, speak to your child's class teacher for more information.
