Year 1 blog:
We have had a very busy and exciting week!
In Writing, we have been learning all about The Gruffalo. We explored his features carefully and talked about what makes him such a scary character. Using this knowledge, we began to create our own warning posters, describing the Gruffalo and explaining why others should watch out for him.
In Design and Technology, we have been busy making mechanisms. We explored how things move and worked practically to design and create our own moving parts. This hands-on learning helped us develop our problem-solving skills and understand how simple mechanisms work.
In Maths, we have been focusing on numbers to 20. We practised counting, recognising, ordering and representing numbers in different ways, helping to build confidence and a strong foundation in number skills.
In Geography, we have been learning about London and discovering that it is the capital city of England. We talked about famous landmarks and what makes London an important and special place. We also looked into the human and physical features in London
It has been a week full of creativity, curiosity and hard work, and we are very proud of everything the children have achieved!
