Year 6 blog:

Year 6 recently went on a trip to the local library at Lordshill and had a great time exploring everything it has to offer. When we arrived, we first had a look around the library and learned where different sections and types of books are kept including different authors and different genres. It was interesting to see how many books there were and how they had been organised and how our school library was the same.

Next, we took part in a fun scavenger hunt. This helped us look more closely around the library as we searched for specific books and clues. The scavenger hunt was a great way to learn how to find books and use the library properly, while also working together and having fun.

To finish our visit, we all sat down and listened to a story read by our teacher. It was a nice, calm way to end the trip after all the excitement. Some of us were even able to take books out to borrow and read at home.

Overall, our library trip was enjoyable and educational, and it showed us how the library can be a fun and useful place to visit.
