Year 3 blog:

This half-term, Year 3 have been learning how to write persuasive letters—and their task was to convince Mr Peters to stay in our brand-new luxury hotel! The children used powerful adjectives, persuasive phrases, and imaginative ideas to make their hotels sound truly irresistible.

In maths, we have been working hard on our times tables, exploring different ways to represent them such as arrays, number lines, and repeated addition. The children have also begun linking multiplication to division, using their facts to solve related division questions with growing confidence. Through practical activities and problem-solving tasks, their understanding is getting stronger every week.

Our history lessons introduced us to Walter Tull, an inspiring footballer and WWI soldier. Year 3 were fascinated by his achievements and showed great maturity when discussing his importance.

In science, the children explored different rocks, comparing their properties through hands-on experiments. They tested whether rocks would sink or float, checked how hard they were, and observed their textures and colours. They loved examining real rock samples and recording their findings.

It’s been a fantastic half-term full of curiosity, effort, and great learning from Year 3!
