Year 6 blog:

Wednesday, our Year 6 class had the exciting opportunity to visit the Mayflower Theatre to watch Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. From our seats high up in the balcony, we had a fantastic view of the entire stage, and the magical world of Narnia came to life right before our eyes.

This trip linked perfectly with our current writing unit, where we’ve been exploring portals and journeys into other worlds. Watching the Pevensie children step through the wardrobe felt just like watching our lessons unfold on stage. The snowy forests, the mysterious creatures, and the battle between good and evil all helped inspire our imaginations even further for our narrative write later on in the term.

Seeing a portal story performed live gave us new ideas, new questions, and plenty of excitement for our own writing. It was a memorable afternoon filled with wonder, creativity, and storytelling magic just like entering Narnia itself.
