Year 2 blog:

On Wednesday, Year 2 had a fantastic day at Marwell Zoo!

The excitement started before we even arrived, as we travelled to the zoo on a double-decker coach. Once we got there, we couldn’t wait to start exploring and see all the animals!

The weather was perfect, so many animals were out and about in their enclosures. Some of our favourite animals were the tigers, who were sunbathing on the grass, the giraffes using their long, black tongues to munch on hay, and the different types of monkeys — they were so cute! We also loved our workshop. We learnt about animal classification and got to explore different skulls.

In writing, the children will be creating a recount of their day at the zoo and using interesting vocabulary they have learnt. It was such a brilliant day, and we can’t wait to share what we learned!
