House Competition:

So far this half term, the children have collaborated in their houses as problem solvers, artists and athletes! They have demonstrated our house values across the four categories: Knowledge, Charity, Creativity and Sports.

Knowledge Competition

The focus of our knowledge competition this half term has been puzzles. The children have experienced a range of puzzles from word searches to mazes! They have proven to be excellent problem solvers and collaborators. It turns out no challenge can deter Mansel Park! By the end of this term, we will hold our puzzle competition to find out which house has the best problem solving skills.

Charity Competition

We are all very excited about our upcoming charity event ‘Pages and PJS’! On the 23rd of May, children will be able to wear their favourite pyjamas to school (even teachers too!) and will get the opportunity to listen to a familiar story read by teachers from different year groups. We running this event to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Pyjamas Charity.

Creativity Competition

The children have been working so hard to create the final pieces for our creativity competition. Each house has been secretly preparing their artwork during house assemblies ready to reveal in week 5. The aim is we can use these beautiful art pieces to create a display for either our local area or to promote our house values in an area in our school.

Sport Competition

With Sports Day around the corner (22nd May), the children have spent time practising their competitions and running races! The children cannot wait to demonstrate their amazing positivity, resilience, perseverance and determination across the day.

Important Reminders!

Please continue to read 5 times a week! It has been amazing to hear the children’s positive attitudes to their reading and to see their progress in their reading. The class with the most reads earns a special visit from a different teacher to read their favourite stories! Don’t forget, home reading and daily attendance contributes towards valuable House Tokens which has a hand in crowning the winning house! Stay tuned for more amazing house news!
