Reading Ambassadors blog:
On Friday 17th October, our Reading Ambassadors had the amazing opportunity to visit Saint Mary’s Stadium to collect the Bronze Reading Charter Award, a fantastic achievement for all their hard work promoting reading in our school!
The day got even better when we got to meet the incredible author Onjali Rauf, who gave us a special treat. She read us her brand-new book “The Game I Will Never Forget”. We were one of the very first to hear it – how lucky is that? It’s all about her brother and how good he was at chess with his Nani (Grandma-ster).
She showed us how reading and writing come from our own imagination and the more we read the more ideas we can write about and maybe one day we can all become authors!
We also learned all about the Silver Award, and now we’re more inspired than ever to work towards it. There are lots of exciting ideas to bring back to school to keep our reading community growing.
To top it all off, we enjoyed squash and biscuits, picked up some free books, and had loads of fun exploring the stadium. It truly was a day to remember!
Well done to all the Reading Ambassadors – your love of reading is helping to make a real difference!
